Well, we've finally got it all settled. The freshman schedule is taking shape as we have added now 3 tournaments with each tournament offering 3-4 games each. We are scheduling scrimmages and games for weekdays as well for the freshman so the calendar for them should continue to gradually grow as we make contacts with teams.
Coach Ed and Coach Justin will be announcing the freshman and JV team rosters this week. There are a few freshmen in the running to move to JV. That list of freshmen moving up to JV may change throughout the year due to improvements and progress. These rosters are not set in stone. Nor is the varsity roster for that matter. We've taken a sophomore already up to the varsity and there is no saying there may not be more with our talented sophomore core of players. So keep working hard gentleman.
Note: We will try to do a better job of getting the kids out of practice on time. We apologize. We coaches get a little carried away you know, haha. Please also note the recent practice time alteration. Wednesday practices start at 5:15 now and go till 7:15. This is due to later school finish on Wed. and how it encroaches on the girls practice time.
Updates to the schedule:
The freshman team will be heading to Aptos High for a tournament Sept. 4-5. (Times TBA)
The varsity and JV will scrimmage Live Oak High on Wed. Sept. 9 @ CHS - 5pm. (This will be a lot fun to watch as Live Oak is a perennial powerhouse in CCS and always play an excellent style of water polo. A great test for the Varsity)
The Palma game on Sept. 17th will be played at Carmel High after the girls play Santa Catalina. Game times are JV boys at 5:30, Varsity boys at 6:30.
October 8: The varsity will scrimmage Westlake High School from the Ventura area. (This is a very good program and will be a fun scrimmage for all to watch.) Game Time 5pm.
October 16-17: Monte Vista Tournament #2 (Freshman only)
October 20: is the new date for the Watsonville game. Note, game date switch from previously scheduled Watsonville date. This game will be at Carmel High.
Times: V girls @ 3:30, V Boys at 4:30, Frehsman/JV intersquad scrimmage at 6:00
Thanks again for the patience. We are excited as to how the season is shaping up. The season is here! Parents, as you can tell the season is not all that long so I encourage you to attend each every game or tournament possible. Get involved and get the full experience!
Coach Gaily
