Hollister JV Tournament Update

Here is the update from Coach Ed. Sounded like a lot of fun and a lot of success.

"Beat Pioneer in the opener 13-3 with five players scoring. Beat San Benito 14-4 with eight players scoring. Beat RLS 16-6 with nine players scoring.
Ben Price outstanding in goal with several blocks against Pioneer and less with other games because of better defense (check out stats for exact numbers of saves/steals) Chris Bueno played well in goal against RLS during the last period. Alejandro Gonzales (AJ) has made huge stride in the past week! He lead the JV with 12 goals, seven assists, and 5 steals. Mike Arrola did a great job of 2m defense with fronting the offense and had six goals. Austin Robertson was consistently counter attacking off missed shots and scored 8 goals and had five assists. Austin did a great job of flair releasing on counter attacks. Everyone played and had a good time. Much improvement noted with Garret Kurteff. Players beginning to understand help defense at the Freshmen level. River noted that it was fun to play with other players who know more about the game and have higher skill levels. Coach Ed had a blast with the whole group and sees a promising future for the program in general! Next weeks Bellarmine tournament will raise the competition level significantly. Need to work on pool balance, drive shots, and man up/down situations among other things."
