Carmel defeated Monterey in its regular season finale. The boys have successfully finished the regular season tied for first place with Salinas who also touts a 7-1 record. Unfortunately, Salinas beat Carmel so technically we will be the #2 seed going into the TCAL championship tournament and Salinas will be the #1 seed. It was "Senior Night" and the boys played well. Final score was 9-4 with Ben Evered scoring 3 goals, Brady Hopkins, Nate Cohen and Jay Louis scoring 2 each. Jakub Kristl was solid with 10 saves. I do not know the JV final score, but do know they won handily.
The varsity travels to Los Gatos for our final tournament of the season. 3 tough games await, Los Altos (hands down one of the best teams in all of CCS), Tokay (a powerhouse from the Central Valley) and Santa Cruz. It will be a good primer for next weeks league championship tournament. The schedule for next week will be determined in the next day or two as the season finishes. We will likely have to host a few games during the week at Carmel and then of course we are hosting the championship day on Saturday, Nov. 7th.
Focus and staying healthy will be key this week. Lots of rest for your boys please. This is right where we wanted to be when this season started. It's one of those "Dare to be great opportunities". We've worked very hard. I like our chances...
Coach Gaily
