If you have interest in playing a sport at the college level, I would recommend attending the free 1 hour seminar from ex-NFL player, Derrick Mayes on Wed. 6:30-7:30. He is giving information on the college recruiting process, etc. It will be located in the cafeteria.
Also, I have not heard from anyone interested in attending the Stanford polo camp since I posted that info a few weeks ago. Let me know if your child is interested so we can hopefully get a bunch of Carmel kids going the same week. Good bonding time and great experience.
The schedule is being worked on currently, but please be advised as we address this many times every year. Practice basically begins the end of July. It is voluntary, but as many players will tell you, it is very important to be there if you are able to. Please plan your vacations accordingly. Another concern is always the "Fall Break" We always try to give the boys at least half the week off from practice or games, but we encourage families to avoid full week vacations. The break, although a nice rest and time to get away is only 2+ weeks before League Championships. We are one of the only schools with that break and we have seen that do significant harm to our teams momentum when key players miss that week. Begin planning for the SAT's if you are a senior. We recommend to always take the SAT's on the Saturday in OCTOBER or even September. The SAT in November is always on the same day as the League Championship Finals. We encourage you guys to be heads up about your scheduling. It is not just you and your child that is affected...it is the team and a large group of kids that will have worked very hard for a long period of time to achieve success.
The swim season looks to be going well. I'll see many of you at the meets. Take care.
Coach Gaily
