Hi Dana,
I might be getting 2 or 3 two day tickets for the NCAA water polo finals at Berkeley on December 3rd and 4th since they are not selling one day tickets in advance. We can only go on Sunday and wondered if anyone would like to go in with us on these for Saturday. The two day ticket price is $70 upper level and $50 lower level. One day tickets at the door are $40 and $30 respectively but may be sold out if the two day ticket sales go well. Youth tickets (upper level) are $30 for 2 days, $20 for one day. My inclination is to get upper level. It's the best water polo in the country!
Can you post this on the blog?
Thanks,
Cynthia Hertlein

I need to apologize for the fact that I will not be able to attend the awards banquet on Friday. Our younger son Blake is a senior at UCSD and is our second son to swim for UCSD. Three years ago UCSD took over a large swim meet from UCI that last year and this year conflicts with the awards banquet. It runs all day Thursday,Friday and Saturday and this year has 524 division 1 swimmers plus the 60 UCSD division 2 swimmers. Jan and I are in charge this year of organizing all the UCSD parents to run the meet so it is quite a commitment but is very rewarding to be involved with top notch scholar-athletes competing. The prelims for the 50 free were this morning and Blake surprised himself. He was seeded 24th in a field of 100 and came in 6th in the prelims at 20.49 (0.08 seconds off his best time at D2 Nationals last year) so will be swimming the the championship final this evening in addition to two other relays.
I want to compliment all the boys for their hard work and improvement this polo year and thank all the parents for their assistance. As you now see, it is a group effort involving everyone as we try to make the experience more than just a sport. As always swimming in the spring and doing Legacy at every chance will make you a better polo player next year. Hope to see you all (even the seniors to help in the fall if in town) next year.
Regards, Rodger
