Season Schedule is here!!

Hey everyone!  Can't believe the season is upon us.  We've got the schedule worked out.  It is still somewhat tentative and likely will have some tweaks, but should be pretty reliable for initial planning purposes.  We may be adding another Frosh tournament in late Sept.  Please make sure you read through it carefully as I make some important scheduling notes for you parents that may impact vacations, etc.  We make every effort to set our schedule as early as possible so that you can accurately plan your family activities accordingly.  Remember, much of what we teach in this program is based upon "commitment" to team.  The greatest water polo experience comes from BEING THERE.  Please plan your vacations, birthdays, etc. accordingly.  Team rules state that games and practices are to be missed ONLY for unavoidable family obligations, sickness, or schoolwork emergencies.  The boys know that it is THEIR responsibility to speak to their coaches about missing a practice or game, NOT the parents.  I fee it's a valuable lesson for these boys to do this themselves.  Without further ado....

July 30 – Aug. 7– Hell Week (Times TBA)

Aug. 8 – First Day of school

Aug. 30 – Carmel vs. Monterey (@CHS) (V and JV)

Aug. 31- Sept. 1 – Carmel “Season Opener” Tournament (@CHS) (Frosh and JV)

Sept. 4 – Carmel vs. Soquel (@CHS) (V and JV)

Sept. 14 – Carmel vs. Aptos (@CHS) (F, JV, and V)  (This game may be moved to alternate date)

Sept. 15 – Santa Cruz Tournament (Frosh and JV)

Sept. 18 – Carmel vs. Salinas (@CHS) (likely just JV and V, but possibly Frosh)

Sept. 20 – Carmel vs. Hollister (@Holl) (JV and V)

Sept. 21-22 – Homestead Tournament (Varsity)

Sept. 25 – Carmel vs. Santa Cruz (@Santa Cruz) (V, JV, and Frosh)

Sept. 27 – Carmel vs. Monterey (@CHS) (V and JV)

Oct. 2 – Carmel vs. Soquel (@Soquel) (V and JV)

Oct. 5-6   a) Monte Vista Tournament (JV and F)

           

                        b) South Valley Polo Fest (Varsity)

                        c) Typically the SAT is held on this date.  This is a good date to take it (not the typical November date) as this tournament is scheduled in the afternoon on Friday and the afternoon on Saturday to allow for those taking the SAT on Saturday morning. 

Oct. 8-12 – Fall Break (PRACTICE MONDAY, TUES, AND WEDS, then NO practice until the following Monday.  Please plan vacations or college trips accordingly.)

Oct. 16 – Carmel vs. Aptos (@Aptos) (F, JV, and Varsity)

Oct. 18 – Carmel vs. Salinas (@Salinas) (JV and Varsity)

Oct. 19-20 – Padre Invitational Tournament (@CHS) (Varsity)

Oct. 23 – Carmel vs. Hollister (@CHS) (JV and Varsity)

Oct. 25 – Carmel vs. Santa Cruz (@CHS) (F, JV, and Varsity)

Oct. 26-27 – Carmel Invitational Tournament (@CHS) (Frosh and JV)

Oct. 26-27 – Monte Vista Tournament (Varsity)

Oct. 29 – Nov. 2 – League Championship Week (Note:  We will likely have 1-2 games during this week.  Date and times TBD.  We will also likely host a number of early round games and will need parent help this week.  We also typically call up a few standouts from the Freshman and JV teams for this experience)

Nov.  3 – League Championship Saturday (Varsity)

     (Note:  If season goes well, we will be playing at some time during this day.  This is also an SAT date typically.  Please take SAT’s on the October date instead of this date.)

Nov. 5-10 – CCS 1^st Round and Quarterfinals (Note:  If we were to be victorious this week it would mean practice Nov. 12-17 with games.  Plan accordingly)
