Carmel vs. Palma
(you will need to go to the blog to see the slideshow above. Slide shows and video clips don't show up in the automatic emails sent out by the blog, only the text)
Wow! What a way to start off the league season. After starting the 4th quarter up 3-2 the Padres gave up the tying goal to Palma off the sprint. The score remained tied at the end of regulation. 2 three minute quarters were played of overtime. Carmel lost the coin toss and were faced to play into the blinding setting sun for the final overtime period. The game remained deadlocked at 3-3 at the end of both overtime periods. The game then commenced with "Sudden Death" overtime. With approximately a minute left in sudden death overtime, Jakub Kristl connected with Dane Maughan on a beautiful outlet pass on the counterattack. Dane controlled the ball while Zach Weston made a hard break down the middle of the defense. Dane found him with a beautiful pass and Zach Weston put away the game winner!! Dramatic fashion to say the least. Great win boys! Let's keep it going...
