Quick update on the game last night for those of you who could not be there. The varsity had a tough loss. Final score was 7-3. The boys fought hard, but multiple defensive letdowns and the inability to score the ball continue to be our "achilles heal". We truly are playing good water polo, but are having a difficult time converting. Case and point is that we earned 15 power plays, but only converted one of those into a goal. We are pleased with all the scoring opportunities we are generating, but frustrated still with our inability to capitalize on all that hardwork. We'll get there though, I am confident of that. Dane Maughan, Jay Louis each had one goal. Jakub Kristl had 6 saves and had his first goal from the cage as time expired in the second quarter.
The JV's won a 2-1 low scoring grudge match. I can't remember the last time I've seen such a low scoring game at the JV level. Ben Price played a great game in the goal as Joe Hamwey transitions into the field out of the starting goalie role.
