Our water polo banquet is next Tuesday night November 17th from 6-8 in the multi-purpose room at school.
This is a time for all of us to celebrate this tremendous season and to appreciate all of the wonderful support we have in coaches and parents as well as all of the amazing efforts and commitment of the young men (and of course to admire their "buffness".)
It will once again be a potluck with the team providing the drinks.
Potluck Food assignments:
Freshman: Main course
Sophomores: Salads or something similar
Juniors: Desserts
Seniors - There are only 4 families - so you get to choose what you want to bring - a true potluck
It would be great to have a few parents help set up around 5:30.
Boys - can you be there at 5:45 for a team meeting. We have some business to attend to so you're ready to go for next year.
AND NOW FOR SOME PERSONAL REFLECTION: At the beginning of the season I wrote about how truly blessed we are to have the coaches we do - how the influence that these rock solid men will have on the boys, lasting their entire lives. I expected this year to be powerful, in large part because of coaches, and because of how the boys respond to them.
What I didn't anticipate was the level of support provided by the parents. Your willingness to be present and pitch in made the experience even more special. I believe a young man grows exponentially when surrounded by a tribe of adults - both men and women that support them, that see the potential - often beyond what the boys see in themselves and then call the boys to rise to this potential.
I also appreciate the willingness of the boys to include everyone on this very large team, especially for making the freshman feel part of the team. I stand in awe of what you boys do everyday in practice and at games. Also - thanks for being willing to help when you were asked and for saying "yes" even when you were worn out. This willingness to get involved will serve you in your life.
We have created a strong web that connects and strengthens this water polo family and I am so grateful for the gift it's provided Kai and our family. Thank you!
