CCS update

I have been fortunate enough the last few years to be asked to sit on the 3 coach panel for the CCS tournament seeding committee. It's been fun watching how the tournament all works and how it's set up. The way they do it now is basically this...They took 22 boys teams this season. The 12 largest schools fill the Division bracket and the 10 smaller schools fill up the Division 2 bracket. This year the cutoff for Division 2 was about 1700 students and below! We received the 9 seed out of 10. It may not seem so hot of a seed, but there is really not much different between the teams 5-9 as all have beaten each other. Our lackluster play in our own tournament 2 weeks ago hurt us as both Willow Glen and Live Oak beat us "head to head" so they received the two spots ahead of us. We get a chance at redemption against Willow Glen. Interesting note, we played Willow Glen in our tournament last year and lost. We were matched against them in the first round last year and were seeking redemption then, but played very poorly and lost. Last year our boys were pretty deflated having just lost a 2 goal league championship game to Salinas. This year, our energy level is a bit different I'd say after Saturday night! The boys are ready and it will be a hard fought battle for sure.

We need your support as you saw how crucial it was the other night. We have only advanced past the first round in CCS 1 time since the late 70's and that was 3 years ago when these seniors were freshmen.
