CCS Win!!

Carmel the 9th seed took it to the 8 seed Sobrato last night and won 12-3.  The game was never in doubt for the boys as they jumped out to an early 4-0 lead.  Defense, defense, defense was on display.  Ben Price stellar in the cage again, but our team defense really prevented Sobrato from ever getting much action going on the offensive end.  This marks only the second time a Carmel team has advanced past the first round of CCS in at least 30+ years.  Andrea Collivadino had his best game of the season with 8 big goals.  It was a great team effort though as 4 other players also scored a goal each (Alon Yoeli, Emilio Eizner, Mike Airola, and Trey Coppinger).  Ryan Marden and Romi Kristl each had multiple steals and played fantastic defense crashing on 2 meters on a regular basis.  Sobrato had beat us by one goal in early Sept.  We knew we had a battle on our hands, but we also were confident with the dedicated hard work we've put in since that time.  We're a different team now.

We are very proud of these boys.  They've worked incredibly hard.  The season is not over though as we get the opportunity to play the 1 seed Sacred Heart Prep on Saturday.  They are considered one of the best in all of CCS this season in both the big and small school divisions.  It will be an exciting challenge.

Game will be Saturday, but we do not know where or what time yet.  It should be announced Wed. night.

Practice will continue as normal.  5:30-7pm Wed, and Thurs.  Friday practice TBD.

I have been to the Quarterfinals once with our team from 2008.  It is an exciting affair and quite an honor. I'd make a point of being there.

Here's to another few cold nights on the pool deck :)
