Summer Lagacy Program

LEGACY sent three teams to the National Junior Olympic qualifiers over the past three weekends and all three teams had very good results!  The 16U Boys Red & Blue Teams competed against 28 other bay area teams, including powerhouses: Stanford, 680, Diablo, and LaMorinda. Both teams played exceptionally well, especially considering that they had only one or two subs for most games!  Blue missed qualifying for finals by one loss and Red placed 11th among the 28 Pacific Zone teams, earning them a spot at the JO finals at the Gold level at the end of July.  15 Legacy boys will represent our club at the USA Water Polo National Junior Olympic finals in the Stanford/Bay area.

The 14U boys had their work cut out for them, competing against some of the bay area's top water polo teams, with a young squad that included some 11 and 12 year-old Legacy players participating for their very first time.  They stepped up their play and really pulled together as the weekend progressed. 14Us also only missed a spot qualifying for finals by one loss. It was an all 'round great effort, good fun, and a tremendous learning experience.

Congratulations to all, a very solid showing by our
three Legacy teams.

Next year we are virtually guaranteed success in 14U and 16U age groups because we will have so many returning players with another year eligibility in their
respective age groups!  Legacy is fully committed to expanding our effort of sending USAWP JO teams each year!

Congrats for a super effort: 16U & 14U Legacy boys!

And, thanks to our Legacy coaches, Nate Cohen, Tim Auger, Dave Akers and especially Coach Austin Auger, who coached the 14U team, and Coach Carl, who coached both 16U teams and assisted with the 14Us!

Thanks to parent Ken Doo for the following photos.
